Yin Waster is the Chicago-based musical project started by Griffin Mang (guitar/vocals) in 2016, and later joined by Gabe Huff (drums/percussion) in 2018 after the two met while attending Columbia College Chicago. Together, the pair craft "Gas Station Folk" - a jazzy psychedelic folk rock with influences from hip-hop, country, funk, and more.
Having performed countless shows (including multiple tours around the country), the duo’s versatility and modus operandi of “playing to the room” have allowed them to play in a wide variety of environments, spanning from city-sponsored festivals to DIY basement shows to intimate bar spaces.
Their EP, Every Garden Needs a Dog, is the latest addition to their impressive catalogue of over 20 releases, consisting of multiple live sessions, full-length albums, EPs, and singles. Yin Waster also frequently works with fellow creatives to produce multimedia such as merchandise, album covers, interviews, and music videos.
